What an exciting time for us all who have chosen to be embodied at this time. The newer and higher vibrations are coming through thick and fast, and we have the opportunity to totally live the life that we choose. In the older vibrations, we were predominantly conditioned to lead our lives from our ego, focused fitting into external influences.

As of late, I have had a number of students and clients who have been working through the challenge of climbing the insurmountable mountain of perfection. The general feeling of fatigue, exhaustion and self flagellation of constantly doing and not meeting their expectations OR not doing due to the fear of not meeting expectations, have dimmed the light on these beautiful vibrant souls. Striving for perfection stops us from Being the best that we can be. A few days ago, a good friend of mine and I went out for a meal and a catch up. During the meal, she told me that she was passed over for a promotion because her ‘would-be’ immediate superior said that she would not fit into the culture as she knew what she wanted, and came across as being ‘arrogant’. She brushed it off with an eye roll, but it really got me thinking…. When did ‘knowing what one wanted’ become an undesirable trait? ‘I AM’ transcends all emotional and mental states. The ‘I AM’ holds only one emotion – Love - pure unadulterated unconditional love. So, when is it that we stopped loving ourselves – really caring and nuturing, appreciating ourselves? When did we start taking ourselves for granted, pushing ourselves to our limits? When did we stop taking the time to pat ourselves on the back for achieving something? For as long as I have been on the spiritual path, I have heard the wisdom of those talking about the ‘I AM’ Presence – our Higher self, our Monad or God self. The mighty I AM is defined as our unique and immortal true identity and, as I have found, personally and with clients, has been within us the entire time. We are our ‘I AM’ presence. ‘I AM’ – two most powerful words. Karma – It was a word that totally befuddled me all through my years growing up. In the Hindu tradition that I was taught, Karma is defined as a spiritual principal of cause and effect; where good intent and deed contributes to good karma and future happiness and bad intent and deed contribute to bad karma and future suffering. Karma is a punishment for sins. When we’ve atoned for our sins, we will reach Nirvana. Culturally, we have been conditioned to define success monetarily – get a good career, buy a house with a white picket fence, have money in the bank and earn enough to take care of the family, save for retirement and retire comfortably. This was the path that I was encouraged, sometimes shoved – hard - to follow.
