Yoga keeps us supple, present and mindful. When we laugh we are keeping fit, letting go of tensions, releasing our happy hormones which in turn allow us to let go of the stress hormones. We are in the present moment when we laugh heartily so we are no longer thinking of the past or future. We feel good. It’s free! If we laugh for 10 minutes or more these actions make a difference to our bodies. What do you do when you can't summon up as much Christmas cheer as you think you ought to? December is a crazily busy month for most with cards and presents to organise, parties, work lunches and school productions included in what is already a fully packed schedule. Has the Grinch stolen your Christmas? It’s the most wonderful time of the year... well, not for everyone. The month of December can be a particularly difficult time of year for those dealing with family conflict, loss, break-ups, divorce, loneliness, mental health issues, stressful end-of-year deadlines, poor eating & drinking habits and increasingly, cold and dark winter days. From this list, it is easy to understand that the holiday season might feel not-so-merry and bright for everyone. Are you hoping for a stress-free, peaceful Christmas? Would you like to be able to stay in your own happy zone while family dramas are going on around you? It’s all down to what you choose to think about. You may have heard of the ‘Law of Attraction’, but what does it actually mean and how do we get it work for us? It basically means ‘like unto itself is drawn’, in other words you attract everything, both good and bad, into your own life by your emotional state of mind and what you choose to focus on. |
