People come to the Alexander Technique for so many reasons, such as illness, chronic conditions, stress patterns in mind and body, pain, injuries, lack of self-confidence, pregnancy issues, frustration with limits of achievement at work or hobbies.
Yoga keeps us supple, present and mindful.
When we laugh we are keeping fit, letting go of tensions, releasing our happy hormones which in turn allow us to let go of the stress hormones. We are in the present moment when we laugh heartily so we are no longer thinking of the past or future. We feel good. It’s free! If we laugh for 10 minutes or more these actions make a difference to our bodies.
What do you do when you can't summon up as much Christmas cheer as you think you ought to? Sometimes Christmas means having too much to do, feeling obliged to please other people, grieving our losses or feeling lonely. Join me to discover three secrets children can teach us about making more space for happiness this festive season. Watch out for the dreadful singing.....
Goodness! Can you believe that it is that time of year again? It seems like it was yesterday when we were ringing in 2016 – and in a blink of an eye, we seem to be in the last month of 2016, about to herald in 2017. Time seems to be just zipping by so quickly that sometimes I find it hard to keep track of it.
Christmas is coming and before we know it the decorations will be up, Christmas music playing everywhere and the shops crazily busy. Once December comes around Christmas pretty much ‘takes over’ and becomes our sole focus.
December is a crazily busy month for most with cards and presents to organise, parties, work lunches and school productions included in what is already a fully packed schedule.
Has the Grinch stolen your Christmas?
It’s the most wonderful time of the year... well, not for everyone. The month of December can be a particularly difficult time of year for those dealing with family conflict, loss, break-ups, divorce, loneliness, mental health issues, stressful end-of-year deadlines, poor eating & drinking habits and increasingly, cold and dark winter days. From this list, it is easy to understand that the holiday season might feel not-so-merry and bright for everyone.
Are you hoping for a stress-free, peaceful Christmas? Would you like to be able to stay in your own happy zone while family dramas are going on around you? It’s all down to what you choose to think about.
You may have heard of the ‘Law of Attraction’, but what does it actually mean and how do we get it work for us? It basically means ‘like unto itself is drawn’, in other words you attract everything, both good and bad, into your own life by your emotional state of mind and what you choose to focus on.
Sorry there’s no such thing…you’ve upset the balance, now is the time to restore it!
‘Tis the season to be jolly – although much of this jolliness tends to be alcohol-induced! Jolliness is one thing, unfortunately the line between feeling merry and feeling grim is very thin indeed!
