Our bodies are amazing. They know exactly how to heal themselves.
A cut on your finger or a broken bone. They knit and heal without any interference from us. Cancer cells are created in our bodies several times each day. Our body recognises them and destroys them. Knowing how to support and promote one’s self-healing power is the key to health and wellbeing. Everything you need to heal is inside of you and in the natural world around us. We have come to look outside of ourselves for solutions. We have seen the rise and fall of antibiotics, now so overused that they are fast becoming no longer effective. We rely on drugs to treat the symptoms of our illnesses, leading to the depletion of vital nutrients, this in turn causes other disorders and so we continue in a downward spiral. We look everywhere for solutions, anywhere but where they really are, inside us! I am lucky enough to work with some of the most amazing practitioners and teachers in the field of health and well-being. People who can provide you with all the natural and practical resources to enable you to take responsibility for you own health and wellbeing. They are in the business of helping others to attain and maintain optimum health! The building blocks of health and wellbeing are based on a holistic ideal of Mind, Body and Spirit or Energy all working together and at optimum level. Each week we will be adding articles from leaders in the natural health arena so we will be building a library of natural health and wellbeing solutions. I like to think of this collective as the Mosaic of Health. Little building blocks that you can put together in order to create your own Master Solution. We welcome your comments and suggestions to help make this a complete collection of Holistic Health and Wellbeing Solutions for everyone’s benefit. Our theme this month is - Colds, Flus, Winter Blues! I hope our contributors this week will give you some food for thought before you rush off to the doctor! Our theme for March will be Solutions for Stress. The basis of so many disturbances in our bodies, stress can literally rob us of our health and even our lives. Menu planning for the week’s meals and snacking accordingly can save time and money, leaving your willpower stronger when you feel like some naughty inclusions. Generally, it’s easier to eat healthily at home with all the cupboards organized and everything at your fingertips. So here are five ideas for health and wellbeing while you’re out and about. Something very unusual thing happened to me this year - I got a cold! I am normally a very healthy person and pride myself on my good health, being a Touch for Health therapist and instructor. Well it is said that pride comes before a fall and fall I did, and felt very miserable about the whole thing. I also knew why I got ill and basically it was because I overstretched myself, got overtired and didn’t give myself the nurturing I needed. Silly me! Is that all there is to getting ill? There are so many factors to consider, but certainly at this time of year, people seem more vulnerable and susceptible to dis-ease.
