Any relationship which exists in our life is fraught with misunderstandings and misinterpretations because, unless we ask, we automatically make assumptions based on our perspective of the world. This is driven, in turn, by our internal map built up through our experiences, memories, beliefs, and bias.

Over the years, I’ve heard a number of people refer to and start accreditations in NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) and I confess there was always a little natural curiosity. Mostly sceptical and suspicious! I’m a pretty intuitive person and always felt that I’d be better served following my own instincts. A close friend undertook the Practitioner course and I came to the realisation that everything she talked about resonated and the following is what I came to understand. Kellie Lucas is passionate about building relationships, maximising value and success through coaching and mentoring. She is an NLP Practitioner and continues her development with the Master Practitioner accreditation currently. Having started her career in Finance within the Banking sector, she took the plunge into IT and indulged her love for technology and people by becoming a Software Consultant at companies such as Adaytum, Cognos, IBM and finally Artesian. During her time at Artesian, she has worn many hats - Consultant, Project Manager and IBM Consulting Practice Manager. Her most recent role was taking on the delightful challenge of Happiness Engineering where she looked after customers, increasing retention, building the Customer Success team and getting involved in the exciting CS movement as a participant, blogger and speaker. Her primary motivation is in helping others achieve the best version of themselves that they wish to be through support, guidance, coaching and mentoring. Kellie coaches individuals regularly and volunteers as a mentor with under privileged and ambitious teenage girls. She’s a keen trekker and wildlife enthusiast, aiming to combine the two through travels, having completed the Inca Trail, experienced Gorilla trekking in Africa, explored the Seventh continent of Antarctica and climbed Mount Kinabalu in Borneo. |
