Unfortunately, over the years fats have gained a bad name. However, in the past few decades it has been discovered that we need the good fats in our diet to keep healthy and fight disease. A low fat diet is just as bad as a diet that is high in fat.
Body image. A colossal topic with which the developed world is overly preoccupied and always has been. This holds true whether we consider the days when the Rubenesque figure was de rigueur or the modern day obsession with being a size zero.
It has been common knowledge for years that by maintaining a healthy weight, eating a healthy balanced diet and to exercising regularly, you are at lower risk of heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes than if you are overweight (having a high percentage body fat).
It is however really necessary look deeper at this and ask: ‘What is a healthy weight?’
