Using juicing for a healthy body and mind

If you want to feel great you need to give your body the right fuel. Fresh fruits and vegetables give you the necessary drive to meet your daily challenges: whether at work or in your free time.

Juicing is a great way to get the correct nutrition in to you.

I used to have the mindset that I wanted and needed to get to a certain weight and would weigh myself regularly.

The truth of the matter was I could put on half a stone in a bad week and loose it in a good week so the scales really weren't my friend!

I believe if you run or train in the gym then you may weigh more but your body shape is different, therefore I now measure weight by how I feel in my clothes. This has stemmed from the One Simple Change concept that I adopted when I was introduced to Juice PLUS+
I believe that if you get your nutrition right then achieving a healthy weight will shortly follow, which also means a healthy body = a healthy mind.

We know our gut is linked to our brain so if we fuel our bodies with unhealthy foods and drinks we will feel bad and have unhealthy thoughts. In turn if we fuel our bodies with good food we will feel great and have healthy thoughts. When you are feeling great you want to make more positive changes such as drinking more water, opting for healthy food choices and doing more exercise.

Reaching and maintaining a healthy weight is vitally important for overall health and can help you prevent and control many diseases and conditions. If you are overweight or obese, you are at higher risk of developing serious health problems, including heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, gallstones, breathing problems, and certain cancers. That is why maintaining a healthy weight of your choosing is so important.
So what is the difference between being overweight and obesity? Overweight is having extra body weight from muscle, bone, fat, and water. Obesity is having a high amount of extra body fat. Body mass index (BMI) is a useful measure of overweight and obesity. But again don’t become obsessed with your BMI and the scales.

If you want to feel great you need to give your body the right fuel. Fresh fruits and vegetables give you the necessary drive to meet your daily challenges: whether at work or in your free time. As a result of the nutritional changes I have made I have become a regular juicer. I brought a second hand juicer called a Super Juicer and I completed the Jason Vale Big Juice Challenge in March. If you are looking to buy a juicer then opt for a cold press juicer as they extract juice by first crushing and then pressing fruit and vegetables for the highest juice yield. Because they don’t produce as much heat as the older style juicers, they keep more of the fresh ingredients’ nutrients intact. Juicing offers many life-enhancing health benefits including a faster, more efficient way to absorb immune boosting nutrients naturally found in fruits and vegetables. I am currently doing the 5lb in 5 Days Juice Challenge with my sister and as a support to her I am juicing all her juices, she just collects them in the morning!

So getting enough fruits and vegetables isn’t always easy in modern, stressful, everyday life though and as much as I love juicing and continue to juice once or twice a week it is messy and expensive. That is why Juice PLUS+ makes it as easy as possible for you. These products bridge the gap between what we should eat and what we actually eat every day. Providing us with valuable phytonutrients, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

Water plays a key role in maintaining a healthy weight. Did you know that we don’t function at full capacity when we’re dehydrated? The Institute of Medicine recommends adults to have roughly 13 cups = 3L (men) / 9 cups = 2.2L (women) of water per day. There are many simple ways to make sure you and your family are drinking plenty of fluids each day. Remember, food provides about 20% of water intake as well and many fruits and vegetables are more than 90% in water by weight. Make an effort to monitor your fluid intake and you’ll be functioning better in no time.

Being prepared and having the right foods in the house plays an important role in a balanced diet. But with the stresses of hectic everyday life, it's not always easy to make well-planned purchases or elaborate meals at home. This is why you need something that will suit your lifestyle, an option that is as flexible as you.

Good health to you!
