Here are a few words from Angie Fisk about how over the years we have come to be aware of how the moon affects our mood. So stress can be caused by us not paying attention to how the water in our own bodies might be influenced by the moon as much as the tides in the oceans.
You might like to look at Astrologer Pam Gregory’s video on what effects the planets might have on us in March.

Yes the word “lunatic” goes back all those hundreds of years to the Roman Goddess of the Moon, Luna.
It refers to the strange behaviour the effect of the energy of the full moon can have on people.  Years of scientific study has yet to come up with any solid evidence that the draw of the full moon on the water we have in our bodies (yes men too!) can make us cranky, argumentative, and in extreme cases unreasonably violent…hence “lunatics”.
However, Police Inspectors, Security companies, school teachers would all tell you that the week running up to, and on the night of, full moon people’s behaviour definitely takes on a dark side. Extra police staff are put on the streets, more doormen are placed on late night establishments and school teachers can be seen grabbing the rescue remedy before heading out into the playground where the “lunatics have taken over the asylum!”.
But it’s not just full moon that affects our moods and energies, the whole lunar cycle has a profound effect on the way our energy works throughout the month, 29 and a half days to be specific.
‘The moon cycles’ is really about the relationship between the moon and the sun, after all it’s the energy and light from the sun that gives us the sight of our moon in the sky.
When we understand these cycles we can use them to our best advantage by arranging our month around them.
Cycles of the moon
The cycle starts with New Moon; the moon is positioned between the sun and Earth. From Earth, the sun and moon appear to be in the same part of the sky and will rise and set together. The side of the moon that receives the sun's light is facing away from Earth, so no moon is visible to us on Earth's surface.
New Moon represents new beginnings, the birth of new ideas, plant those metaphorical seeds for new plans, new ideas and the start of new adventures.  I always hold my monthly workshops on the week of new moon, new beginnings for my students to learn and move forward with positive energy,
Waxing Crescent approx... 3.5 days after new moon. Time to investigate, research and gather information to support your idea planted at new moon.
1st Quarter. A week after new moon.
Here only half of the moon's disk is illuminated and can be seen in the afternoon in our sky. This is an important time to attract what you need for your goal to succeed. Action is needed, contact people conducive to your goal, act now.
Gibbous Moon. 2.5 days after 1st quarter.
Here keep your eyes open for any adjustments that are needed to bring your idea or project to fruition. Continue preparations if needed, or rest and wait.
Full Moon 2 weeks after new moon. The side of the moon that faces Earth is fully illuminated – that large circle of light so as the sun sets, the moon rises. The full moon is now visible all night.
This is the time when your goal will show results, full illumination! Try and be subjective, be fully and honestly aware of anything that hasn’t worked… in a positive way please!
For all you Spiritually minded out there this is a good time for protection rituals.
Waning Crescent 2.5 days after full moon.
Review how much you have learned and share with others.
Last Quarter 1 week after full moon.
Letting go, completion and reviewing what has and has not worked. A brilliant time to get rid of anything that has a negative influence on you or your life.
Dark side of the Moon The Dark Moon period occurs 3 days prior to the New Moon and it's the shortest 'phase' of the moon.
Don’t do anything! Rest and replenish your energy after a busy month. This is the time to pamper yourself and have some “me “time before the new moon in 3 days when you can start all over again!
